I often collaborate with different groups to create original video content for them. One such group I worked with often was (and still is) Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. In this particular video project, I helped bring a parody concept of the popular film “Inception” to video fruition.

Directed by Richard Fields, Filmed by Jolie A. Doggett and Shegaw Mekonen, Edited by Richard Fields. Featuring the ICE Cold All Stars members of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.

BEAUTY SHOP PRODUCTIONS: Body Dysmorphic Disorder

This is the first original piece completed by BeautyShop Productions, a production company I co-founded with a good friend from school to create original short and feature-length pieces about social and community issues. This piece was about body image issues in the black community and was meant to start a conversation about body dysmorphia as well as encourage other young people to love themselves the way they are.

Directed by Jolie Doggett.Shot by Ashley Morse, Jolie Doggett, and Richard Fields.  Edited by Ashley Morse and Jolie Doggett. Music by Camille Michelle Gray

Just Jolie: Stereotypes of Black Greek Life

This is an original short piece examining stereotypes in the unknown and misunderstood community that is historically black fraternity and sorority life. This piece examines the roll the media play in creating negative stereotypes about black greeks which are then perpetuated by members and non-members.

  8. Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.
